Abstract

Not all handicapped students can successfully fit into mainstream classes, even on a limited basis, and most particularly in shop oriented vocational areas. The research goals of this study were to: 1. Provide proof that handicapped students, especially educable mentally retarded, can be successfully trained, given the proper learning atmosphere; 2. Provide justification that a separate vocational educational track for educable mentally retarded students should be established where they may compete only with others in their peer group.
