About the Poet
Born February 13, 1969 in Bangor, Maine, Loralee Clark graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a B.A. in English with a concentration in poetry in 1992 and an M.A. in Speech Communication in 1994. She taught at The College of William and Mary in the Department of Theatre and Speech from 1994 to 2003.
In June 2025 she had her first poetry book, Solemnity Rites, published by Prolific Pulse Press. Later that year, in November, she had two chapbooks published: Delighting in "To Be": Poems for Writers by Bottlecap Press and A Harmony in the Key of Trees: A Healing Myth by Dancing Girl Press. In April of 2026, a second book of poetry, Neolithic Imaginings: Mythic Explorations of the Unknown, was published by Kelsay Books.
Clark has given several readings and taught a poetry workshop for the Virginia Poetry Society. She will be teaching a seminar for the Virginia Writer's Club this coming August: Putting Your Best Poems Forward: How to Successfully Compile Published Poems into a Cohesive Manuscript. She was nominated for three Pushcart Prizes in 2026.
