Abstract

The marginalized, the rejected, the ignored, the obscure and the flawed are always the subjects of violence. This is a collection of short stories portraying different experiences of violence, communal, racial, gendered, and economic. Stories foreground the intersectional identity of Muslim women, highlighting islamophobia; and questions the existing political and social order of the world.

Versions of these stories appeared in the following publications: ‘When They Came for Us’ in The Kenyon Review, ‘Junaid’ in The Ordinary Chaos of Being Human: Tales from many Muslim Worlds (as ‘Main Hoon Juanid’), ‘Good Girls’ in The Chakkar.
