Abstract

Originally From Dorchester is a memoir of my early life, up to the age of 14. While it includes background information on myself, it primarily depicts the people and the town of Dorchester as they and it existed in the 1960s. As a memoir, it is written from the first-person point of view. Thematically, the work includes not only reflections on life, but touches upon the similarities of a young man's dreams and an older man' memories. The influence of the past on the future, particularly the influence of a hometown on a developing adolescent is a key element of the story.
