Abstract

In these stories myth affects the daily events of the central characters' lives. Sometimes these myths can be clearly delineated as broad archetypes. Often they are personalized or distorted so that they are more difficult to detect. In these stories, one can find the mythical or archetypical characters interacting with characters you might find in any town and affecting ordinary everyday occurrences.

The same myths that the characters sometimes share can lead to both external and internal conflict. When the characters in these stories attempt to resolve these conflicts, they often discover unexpected revelations about themselves and their situations.
