Abstract

This collection of seven short stories explores the experience and expression of love. Love as myth is thematic to some of the stories, as is love as misery. The characters in the stories lose love or misuse it, or they confuse it with other human impulses. The stories dance around the cliche of love and examine it from the perspective of the individual, family, community, and church. Love is the conflict as well as the resolution, and the characters evolve as their understanding of love becomes more or less clear.
