Abstract
Herein is a collection of poems each having something to do with how and/or why we figure our bodies in relation to the Space we tend to call the World, History, or Family. The first section, entitled "Settlement," deals primarily with the idea of orienting ourselves in terms of family in its loosest sense. The second section, "Generation," questions the relation of space and family in terms of the Bible's Old Testament. The penultimate section, ''Landscape," considers the body as physical presence in a space which by definition should be alien to it. "The Naming," the final section of the manuscript, considers the body as place (or space) itself.
