Alexandra Petri is a Washington Post columnist and blogger, a stand-up comic, an International Pun Champion, a playwright, a Jeopardy! loser, and she's been on your TV a couple of times. Her book of essays, A Field Guide to Awkward Silences, was published in 2016.

John McManus, Co-director of the Festival, welcomed the audience and introduced Drew Lopenzina, author of Through an Indian's Looking-Glass, who introduced Alexandra Petri.
