Factors Causing Individuals to Adopt Wearable Technology: Empirical Evidence Using UTAUT.

Date

April 2020

Description

The use of miniature sensors that are attached to the body and used to monitor steps taken by consumers have become popular products today. The use of wearable technology promises to assist individuals with keeping in shape by monitoring heart rates and steps. This study applies the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to the phenomenon of user adoption of wearable technology. UTAUT examines an individual’s choice of acceptance into one comprehensive model, designed to assist in understanding what factors either enable or hinder the adoption of wearable technology.
