Description

Organizational storytelling is how an organization through mediums such as product development, employee structure, organizational culture, and even retail store design, translates their authentic, in-detail, and passionate values-based story. This poster features details about an organization’s storytelling capability, which is based on an original interdisciplinary conceptual framework developed with James Madison University’s College of Business Department of Marketing. The development of this story is channeled through internal attitudes that shape an organization’s values. The common internal attitudes in organizations with a high storytelling capability all stem from Japanese socio-cultural variables. As attitudes are molding the organization’s values, they are writing the organizational story that is consciously translated by an organization. Through this story, organizations evoke emotion in customers and stakeholders. This customer emotion leads to positive outcomes such as dynamic customer experience, experiential value, and a lasting community.
