Old Dominion University's Center for Bioelectrics hosted its 2021 Research Retreat on November 11, 2021. The retreat was organized by a Committee of Faculty and Postdocs of the Center. Professor Colunga Biancatelli Ruben led the committee which included Professors Olga Pakhomova, Christiana Dimitropoulou, Pavel Solopov and Postdocs Federica Castellani, Vitalii Kim and Flavia Mazzarda.

The retreat was in a hybrid-format with both in-person presentations and participants presenting remotely via zoom. In addition to members of the Center, guest speakers from Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) and University of South Florida (USF) participated in the event.

Recognition and prizes were given for the following:

  • Best Young Scientist Presentation: Emily Gudvangen, B.S.
  • Best Postdoc Presentation: Flavia Mazzarda, Ph.D.
  • Schoenbach Scholarship: Alex Chittmas, B.S.
