As an institutional repository, ODU Digital Commons is available to collect data and data sets from any ODU researcher. Benefits to researchers:

  • Meet funder requirements for public access to data
  • Ensure long-term preservation and storage
  • DOI creation and registration
  • Open access through a creative commons license is preferred, although private access is available
  • File size: recommended up to 2GB; upper limit 10-20GB
  • File format: many file types are accepted, but for long-term preservation and accessibility, standard and/or commonly available file types are recommended
  • We follow FAIR Data Principles: Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable -- See Cornell University's guide
