Abstract

Storied, Healing is a collection of hybrid memoir essays that ultimately serve as a love letter to the people, stories, and fixations that have brought me solace, clarity, and healing from the trauma I have experienced, the abuse I have endured, and the questions I have posed as a Chinese adoptee. Each essay focuses on a specific aspect of my journey from disillusionment about my adoption and past to healing through loving and learning about people, fairy tales, and other fixations. I hope that this manuscript will help people, especially adoptees and victims of abuse, know that they are not alone and that they can indeed survive what they feel like they cannot.
