Abstract

Space Junk is a collection of poems that is exploring the relationship between different spaces as well as the act of looking. Additionally, this work aims to create a bridge between the arts and sciences, looking for ways in which the two can exist in harmony. This thesis uses poetry in a variety of forms, often prose poems, and has multiple threads of family, grief, out space itself, and the inner self. By moving through the family space, to the outer space, to the inner space, this work mimics gravitational lensing in the way it curves, but comes back around to the beginning path.
