Abstract
In the Talons of Falcons is a dual perspective high-fantasy novel that follows Cain, the deity responsible for the world's creation, and Grier, an unwilling assassin sent by a corrupt ruler to kill him. The purpose of this narrative is to address relevant socio-political issues through the approachable lens of a fantasy story. In the Talons of Falcons builds off of traditional fantasy conventions such as world-building, action scenes, and invented mythologies to depict a high-stakes conflict in a land devastated by human-born climate change.
