Abstract
The purpose of this capstone project was to create an art exhibition based on the literature and current art therapy practice to educate the public about anorexia nervosa and about treatment options. This exhibit especially emphasized the use of art therapy in the treatment of anorexia. Sixteen pieces of art were created and displayed with accompanying descriptions and quotes. These pieces of art were displayed in Eastern Virginia Medical School and left up for several weeks. Anonymous responses to the exhibition were collected and analyzed for general themes. Responses demonstrated that the art show had education value and that viewers were able to gain more insight into anorexia nervous through attending the show.
