Abstract
This self-study explored the process and materials of watercolor painting by creating artworks and documenting my experiences through written reflections. I created artwork and written reflections during eight art making experiences. A research team analyzed qualitative data including eight pieces of artwork and written responses to compare and contrast my experiences while immersed in the techniques. The research team discovered patterns of thoughts and feelings related to each art making experience. Implications are made for the process and materials of watercolor painting for art therapy practice.
