The Honors College offers Old Dominion University undergraduates the benefits of a small liberal arts college within the framework of a large, research-intensive university. Our general education courses promote active engagement and collaboration between students and faculty. Our Essential equipment/supply grants, the Student Honors Apprenticeship in Research Program, civic learning projects, and conference travel grants support honors students in their development as researchers and community members.
The Honors College and Office of Academic Affairs sponsor an Undergraduate Research Symposium to provide undergraduates with the opportunity to present the results of their research projects in a public forum. The symposium, a successful annual event since 2010, is available under "Student Works."
As a member of the Virginias Collegiate Honors Council, ODU undergraduate students participate in the VCHC Annual Conference. The 2017 VCHC Conference Proceedings are available in ODU Digital Commons.
