Author/Artist Bio

Charles Wright teaches writing at the University of California at Irvine. He is a former Fulbright Scholar and Lecturer and a Guggenheim Fellow. Mr. Wright's books include the The Grave of the Right Hand, The Venice Notebook, Hard Freight, Bloodlines and Images of Kin. He was a Guggenheim Fellow in 1976.

Description

The Final Reunion, Now and Then. AWP Reading: Daniel Hallpern, Charles Wright. Two much-honored poets read from their own works at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 1978 at the Riverview Playhouse 3910 Granby St., Norfolk.

During the reading there was an intermission where the Poetry Quartet (Charles Burgess, Benjamin Clymer, Genevieve McGiffert, and Hope Mihalap) gave its first performance of the year in a program of dramatic readings called "Great Scenes from Shakespeare." They performed scenes from Richard II, Richard III, Measure for Measure, Macbeth, Othello, and Twelfth Night.
