Author/Artist Bio

Charles Wright teaches writing at the University of California at Irvine. He is a former Fulbright Scholar and Lecturer and a Guggenheim Fellow. Mr. Wright's books include the The Grave of the Right Hand, The Venice Notebook, Hard Freight, Bloodlines and Images of Kin. He was a Guggenheim Fellow in 1976.

Description

Charles Wright and Daniel Halpern did a reading at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 1978 at the Riverview Playhouse 3910 Granby St., Norfolk.

During the reading there was an intermission as The Poetry Quartet (Charles Burgess, Benjamin Clymer, Genevieve McGiffert, and Hope Mihalap) performed "Great Scenes from Shakespeare." The Quartet performed scenes from Richard II, Richard III, Measure for Measure, Macbeth, Othello, and Twelfth Night at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 1978 at the Riverview Playhouse 3910 Granby St., Norfolk.
