Alf Mapp, Jr., Eminent Professor of English at Old Dominion University, recently celebrated the publication of Thomas Jefferson: A Strange Case of Mistaken Identity. For six years he pored over thousands of papers and letters written to and by Jefferson to produce this first volume, which was a featured selection of the Book of the Month Club. Mapp's writings have been translated into nine languages, earning the praise of scholarly critics and enjoying an enthusiastic public reception.
