Author/Artist Bio

Luisa A. Igloria is currently a visiting associate professor at Old Dominion University. She is a poet, essayist, and fictionist, and has five published books including Blood Sacrifice, which received the 1998 National Book Award for Poetry in the Philippines. She has been the recipient of the Carlos Palanca Award for Literature, the Philippine equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize. Carlos Angeles has praised her writing saying, "Her work contains some of the most extraordinary and most polished poetry written by a Filipino poet writing in English today."
