Author/Artist Bio
Bino A. Realuyo was born and raised in Manila, Philippines, and studied international relations in the U.S. and South America. His poems have appeared in several literary journals and anthologies in the U.S. and the Philippines including The Kenyon Review, Manoa, New Letters, and The Nation.
He is the recipient of the 1998 Lucille Medwick Memorial Award from the Poetry Society of America. His acclaimed debut novel, The Umbrella Country, was included in Booklist Magazine’s "Ten Best First Novels of 1999." He lives in New York City and works in adult education.
