Author/Artist Bio

Marjorie Agosin, is an award-winning poet who was recently honored with a United Nations Leadership Award for Human Rights. A professor of Spanish at Wellesley College, she has written many books of poetry and fiction, and as an editor, she has introduced many Latin American writers, especially women, to English-speaking readers. Her works include In the Absence of Shadows, Starry Night, Dear Anne Frank, Always From Somewhere Else, Celebration of Memory: Growing up Jewish in Latin America, The Alphabet in My Hands, A Cross and a Star: Memoirs of a Jewish Girl in Chile.
