Temple West graduated with an MFA in Creative Writing from Old Dominion University in 1999. Her writing focuses primarily on creative nonfiction although she also writes short stories and poetry. She teaches English at ODU and writes profiles and features for local publications such as Port Folio Weekly. West is currently working on several larger projects, among them, a collaboration on a narrative account of the story behind the authentic Wright Flyer reproductions and the man responsible for them, Ken Hyde.

West was a featured presenter of the Graduates of ODU's MFA program along with Terry Perrel and Tom Yuill on Monday, October 1, 2001 at 4:00 p.m.
