Author/Artist Bio
Marilyn Chin is the author of The Phoenix Gone, The Terrace Empty and Dwarf Bamboo. Her books have become Asian American classics and are taught in classrooms nationally. She has won numerous awards for poetry, including two NEAs, the Stegner Fellowship, the PEN/Josephine Miles Award, four Pushcart Prizes, and the Bay Area Book Reviewers Award. Chin’s work is included in a variety of anthologies including The Norton Introduction to Poetry, Unsettling America, The Open Boat, and The Best American Poetry of 1996. She teaches in the MFA program at San Diego State University.
