Olivia Laing is the author of To the River and The Trip to Echo Spring. Her latest book, The Lonely City: Adventures in the Art of Being Alone, has been translated into thirteen languages and was shortlisted for the 2017 National Book Critics Circle Award for Criticism. She’s a columnist for Frieze and writes on art and culture for The Guardian, New Statesman and The New York Times. She’s currently working on a book about bodies and freedom.
