George McLeod is a lifelong surfer and amateur poet and, more recently, an Oceanography Graduate from Old Dominion University (M.S. 2009, Ph.D. 2023). He is currently the Director of ODU’s Center for Geospatial Science, Education, and Analytics and a Senior Fellow with the Commonwealth Center for Recurrent Flooding Resiliency. For the past two decades, George has combined his expertise in coastal geomorphology, remote sensing, and skill in the application of geospatial technologies to better understand and communicate the story of our complex relationship with the coast and sea.
