My husband and I raised monarch butterflies for several years and released hundreds in honor of fellow and sister poets. I, of course, was inspired to write a few poems about this amazing butterfly. Below is a poetry prompt:
Write a persona poem in the voice of a monarch butterfly migrating to the mountains of Central Mexico. Prior to writing your poem, research this type of butterfly, as well as Mexico's Oyamel fir forest.
