Abstract
[First paragraph]
I don’t remember when I first began to write about my experience as a foster child; I do know that I had been “writing” it in my head for years. Waiting for a train, walking down the street, standing in an elevator, I would replay scenes, test phrases, and try to imagine the form and structure that my fragmented childhood might take.
