Abstract
The University of Denver (DU) Special Collections and Archives has been building its Fine Press and Artists' Books Collection since 2004, largely in collaboration with faculty from academic departments in the arts and humanities. In 2013, the University Libraries hosted artist Maureen Cummins for a lecture about her work as an artist. Afterward, Maureen agreed to have a conversation with Curator Kate Crowe about her process for incorporating both archival and found materials into her art. The two discussed Maureen's artistic beginnings, her transition to working as and thinking of herself as a fine artist, and her thoughts on the inclusion of archival and found materials into her work.
