Description/Abstract/Artist Statement
I grew up in a single-mother household, so I got a lot of TV time. Through those formative years I felt that my identity as a man came from TV. Sooner rather than later, I did not associate with those same ideas of manhood. I felt that men in the media were overly obsessed with being “Manly.” While I felt that I was just myself, without comparison of what makes me a “Man.”
