The Jungle of Masks

Description/Abstract/Artist Statement

“The Jungle of Masks” is a novel about the layers of identity we form out of historical and familial patterns. In many ways the novel is about stories, the ones we are told and the ones we create, as a means to express without fear nor retaliation. Most of the novel follows Leonardo Mane, and his mother Regina. Living in the remains of an abandoned colonial mansion, they survive through love, art and at times violence. All three are a part of the lives of Leo and Regina but are also a cornerstone of existence.
