Artist's Statement:
This is a social media campaign designed to promote a sense of self-love and wholeness. According to the CPTSD Foundation, the trauma we endure as children impacts our ability to understand ourselves and relate to others. The concept for this piece is inspired by “reparenting,” the process of giving ourselves what caregivers failed to give us as children to create a sense of self-worth and security. Though we may feel broken, we can always pick up the pieces and put ourselves back together again, much like a collage. Think of a time in your life where you needed advice and comfort. What would you tell yourself?
