Description
What If I’m Still Here?
This is a near life-size abstract wood brain showing decoration caused by dementia. The cedar wood has natural coloring of reds and whites, and each have a different hardness as well. Just as the brain has a different rate of decline depending on the amount of plaque and tangles affecting the person who is suffering with dementia. The brain shrinks over time and the white matter changes as well. This cedar brain is made in memory of my father who had dementia and loved being outdoors and working with wood as well. It is hand carved and the use of the electric Dremel hand tool was often welcomed often.
