Description
Aquariums serve as a point of research in regards to ecology, chemistry, biology and botany due to the fact that these fields can be studied in the controlled environment of the aquarium. Particularly, water parameters offer information which can be analyzed and manipulated to improve the quality of life for flora and fauna as well as the health of the ecosystem as a whole. The focus was on parameters such as pH, water hardness, and macro/micro nutrient levels. Observations in responses to these changes were measured in qualitative responses such as leaf growth. Measurements of the water parameters were taken at weekly intervals while routine maintenance was being performed in order to sustain and improve growth for the species of for a and fauna within the aquarium.
