Aromatherapy is defined as the inhalation or bodily application of fragrant essential oils for therapeutic purposes. In short, the individual uses the oil to promote an air of focus, balance, or calm. Furthermore, the method that will be focused on is the diffusion of natural inhalation of pure oils and the variety of ways that an individual can breathe essential oils throughout a day. Pure essential oils are ones that contain only 100% of the plant product with no carrier or filler oil added. Further included will be the different regions of the brain that may or may not be affected by different smells and what those smells stimulate. Next, different oils will be researched in order to ascertain if different scents impact different parts of the brain. In addition, the focus of the presentation will be on how essential oils that are of a pure quality affect the brain.
