Positive Psychology

Positive psychology focuses on the concept of achieving your best life by enhancing the quality of one’s relationships with family and society. My presentation will investigate the ways an individual can experience happiness regardless of the circumstances their life. Some of the topics that exist in positive psychology are character strengths and happiness. Researchers have defined character strengths as positive trait- like capacities for thinking, feeling, and behaving in ways that benefit oneself and others. Positive psychology also has a connection between mindfulness and how a person interprets various situations on a daily basis. Seligman points to five factors as leading to well-being: positive emotion, engagement, relationships, meaning and purpose, and accomplishment.
