“I was driving my husband's SUV - he was out of town. I called him because I didn't know what to do. I asked ‘could the car make it?’ There were cars pulled over at the exit, it was a mess. People were standing on their cars trying to see. I'd only been here a couple weeks and was thinking ‘I have to make it to class.’ So I called him and he said ‘yeah, just don't let off the gas. Just go through. Put your windows down, and whatever you do, don't stop.’ And I did. I sort of went floating through Brambleton. I was terrified of ending up at sea.”
