Michael Pearson is director of the creative writing program at Old Dominion University and has published essays and stories in The New York Times, The Baltimore Sun, The Boston Globe, The Atlanta Journal and Constitution, The Washington Post, The Journal of American Culture, and Creative Nonfiction. Four nonfiction books include Imagined Places: Journeys into Literary America and Dreaming of Columbus: A Boyhood in the Bronx. Pearson's first novel, Shohola Falls, will be published as an original paperback by Syracuse University Press in 2003.

Writers on stage (Luisa Igloria, Michael Pearson, Janet Peery, Sheri Reynolds, Tim Seibles, and Brian Silberman) read and perform their own works. An evening rich in surprises.
