Abstract

The following goals were selected to guide this study: 1. Determine which methods have been used and how successful they have been in the past to teach basic literacy skills to illiterate adults; 2. Determine the methods currently being used to supplement classroom instruction; 3. Determine how receptive adults are to self-paced, self-directed methods; 4. Determine the type of problems experienced using telecommunications to teach literacy skills.
