Abstract

The GlueX experiment at Jefferson Lab uses linearly polarized photons with energies of 8-9 GeV to study mesons and baryons produced in photoproduction. Previous measurements of ground and excited K’s have been made. However, precise photoproduction measurements through Ksπ+ with recoiling Λ, at energies available to GlueX have not. Moreover, the data set collected by the GlueX experiment is the world’s largest of its kind, allowing for precise investigation of resonances in the Kπ system. Having a robust understanding of higher excited K’s will provide invaluable information to phenomenologiests and bring us yet closer to a complete knowledge of the meson spectrum. First results of event selection and simulation studies will be presented.
