Artist's Statement:
This mixed media sculpture features a life-size self portrait of the artist. With arms spread invitingly, her arms are entwined with sharp barbed wire. A vibrant and delicate red paper heart hangs in her chest, opened up to the audience and yet guarded by sharp wire. Does she want a hug? Are you willing to give it to her?
