Whether or not monogamous relationships are beneficial for humans was answered through analyzing the dynamics of monogamous and non-monogamous relationships, the influence of culture and gender on relationships, and the causes of separation between a couple. Given the evidence evaluated in this paper, in order to increase satisfaction in all relationship types, more individuals should consider partaking in consensual non-monogamous relationships (CNM).
